The MTB is a bicycle designed for off-road riding and for tackling even the roughest trails, both uphill and downhill. Depending on how you want to use it, the technical characteristics such as set-up and components change.
In the MTB group there are various subcategories, such as DH, Enduro and XC bikes, and the characteristics that distinguish them are wheel size, suspension range, geometry and weight. And these same characteristics then determine the different prices.
At Cicli Mattio we will be able to advise you not just on the right model according to your needs and your idea of MTB cycling, but also about the correct size. This is determined on the basis of the rider's height and varies according to the model and geometry of the frame.
There are different types of mountain bikes, so the first question to ask when choosing one is: what will be the use of this bike? What is the level of training? How much time do you want to dedicate to cycling?
In particular, the intended use is the decisive discriminating factor: there are people who choose to travel by bike and take Sunday trips off-road, other people who love the the effort of climbing, other who just want to experience the adrenaline of the descent,...
The preferences of each cyclist inevitably guide the choice of the most suitable model.
In particular, mountain bikes fall into two main categories, which it is important to explore further:
- MTB Front or Hardtail have suspension only in the front, and are therefore equipped with a suspension fork, while the rear has no suspension.
- Full Suspension MTBs have both front and rear suspension.
