Cinelli was founded in 1947 by Cino Cinelli, a former professional racer, winner of the Milano-Sanremo in 1943. Cino was not an engineer, but he was a great perfectionist and in just 20 years his company became a leader in the production of racing handlebars and stems . He invented the first saddle with a plastic shell, the Unicanitor, and built the legendary Supercorsa frame, a real cult object of the period that is still made and in demand today.
In 1979 Cinelli sold the company to Mr. Colombo, who immediately sensed its potential and set himself the primary objective of being able to communicate to the public the perfection that he recognized in Cinelli products, exploiting the design and art of which he was a big fan.
Today the company is focused in particular on the production of medium-high range frames and bikes and many accessories made recognizable by the continuous link between performance and art.
