Bikes of the Giro d'Italia 2025: the brands, the champions, the emotions

There is very little time left until the start of the 108th edition of the Giro d'Italia, the stage race that paints our beautiful peninsula pink, from north to south, from west to east.

The first stage will be in Albania, Durres – Tirana, on Friday, May 9th. The second and third stages will also take place in Albania, then the caravan and all the athletes will move definitively to Italy, specifically to the beautiful Alberobello in Puglia.

The route of the Giro d'Italia 2025

All 21 stages will cross the "boot" and the penultimate stage will arrive near our store, in Sestriere (Via Lattea).

It will be a journey of 3 weeks filled with emotions, breathless moments, epic climbs, and sprints!

3,413.3 km in total, 21 stages, an average of 162.5 km per stage, 42.3 km of time trials, 38 km of unpaved roads, 52,500 meters of elevation gain, 2 countries, and 14 Italian regions crossed by the race. The winner? We will find out on Sunday, June 1st, at the final arrival of the pink race, with the parade at the Imperial Forums in Rome.

What bikes will the athletes use in Giro 2025?

Like every year, the Giro d'Italia 2025 will be the occasion to see the best athletes in the world riding the best racing bikes in the world... A triumph of technology, innovation, materials, and top-notch components to offer the riders the highest opportunities to be fast and win!

The teams and their bike brands

Here are some of the strongest teams that will participate in the 108th edition and the bike brand that will accompany them:

How much do the bikes of the Giro d'Italia cost?

The bicycles used by the athletes in Giro 2025 are the best bikes available on the market, representing excellence because they are designed and built to be fast, lightweight, and high-performing!

 Prices of professional bikes

For this reason, they are purchasable by all cyclists who want the top of the line to ride at a certainly expensive price. For example:

  • The Arkea-B&B Hotels team will ride the Bianchi Oltre RC for €13,499
  • The Lidl-Trek team will ride the Trek Madone which in the SLR 9 Gen 8 version costs €13,499
  • The Ineos Grenadiers team will tackle the 21 stages on the Pinarello Dogma F with an average cost of around €15,000
  • The UAE Team Emirates that we will see (perhaps) on the brand new Colnago V5Rs which has a list price of up to €15,900

The prices are high, but justified by the enormous research and development work of the various teams that work to create bikes purchasable by everyone, even by Cicli Mattio, but definitely Formula One bikes!

What are the bikes we will see at the Giro d'Italia 2025 like?

The racing bikes used by the champions of the world scene are light, fast, and high-performing.

Technical characteristics of professional bikes

Many teams choose to complete the setup of the frames with top-notch components, particularly from Shimano, but also Campagnolo and Sram.

All details are studied and assembled with the utmost care to offer the athletes the opportunity to cross the finish line first and triumph!
