Cycling socks red zone

When cycling, whether for sport and competition or to get around town, the feet are stressed and exposed to possible discomfort that should be avoided. How?! By choosing socks designed specifically for bike. These in fact offer several benefits because they have minimised seams, lightweight and breathable materials, and cut and reinforcement points that minimise chafing and discomfort, especially after many hours in the saddle. It is therefore clear that cycling socks are not just an accessory, a purely aesthetic complement to complete your look, but an important element in a cyclist's equipment.

How to choose the best cycling socks for professionals

We have already explained why it is important to carefully choose socks designed specifically for cycling, and we would add that the best cycling socks on the market are often made from fabrics with antibacterial properties and capable of keeping the foot dry, in all seasons.
It is also important to choose cycling socks of the right size: socks that are too small could in fact cause excessive compression of the foot and thus 'fatigue' proper blood circulation, while socks that are too large could move around in the shoe and annoy the cyclist.
A good sock must stay put, not move during training, and maintain a good grip.
There are different models in terms of materials, length, style and, above all, season.

Summer cycling socks

Summer cycling socks are made of materials that allow the foot to breathe while keeping it cool and dry. The length of the sock is not strictly related to the season in which one rides, but to the cyclist's preference: long summer cycling socks can also be found, although ankle-length ones are the most popular.

Winter long cycling socks

Winter socks help keep warmth inside the shoe while allowing moisture to breathe outside to avoid a wet feeling. It is important to keep the feet warm as they are extremities that tend to get cold more easily. They are usually made of synthetic fabrics mixed with merino wool, a natural fibre that ensures good breathability.
