Cycling gloves mainframe

When riding a bike, be it a road, MTB, gravel or city bike or a trekking bike for Sunday rides, gloves are an important accessory for the cyclist. In fact, bike gloves protect against atmospheric agents such as wind, rain, moisture and cold, and also in the event of impacts or falls they can limit injuries on the hands, which are, due to the riding position, very exposed. In addition, bike gloves offer a better grip on the handlebars. And this translates into better control and consequently better performance!

How to choose the best cycling gloves for professionals

There are different models of cycling gloves depending on the season in the first place and then on their type of use. Before choosing which cycling gloves to buy, it is therefore important to consider what kind of cyclist you are and your preferences in terms of equipment on the saddle.

It is essential to find the glove that offers you the right fit: models with too many pressure points that can be uncomfortable while cycling should be avoided, and it would be ideal for the seams to be reduced to a minimum or at least very soft, so as not to irritate the skin. To ensure a good fit, cycling gloves must fit well, not too tight and not too loose. Gloves that are too tight could in fact restrict movement and irritate the hands, while gloves that are too loose move around, do not guarantee a good grip on the handlebars and could also cause blisters.

Finally, there are MTB gloves with extra padding to protect you in case of impacts and/or falls and gloves with reflective inserts for added safety.

Summer cycling gloves

In summer it is good to choose cycling gloves that allow the skin to breathe: light, breathable and short, which means that they only cover the palm and half of the fingers. A good pair of summer cycling gloves should provide an anatomical fit, an aerodynamic line for those who want to make the best time, and should be made of a high-quality material that allows the skin to breathe without getting it wet. Some models have sweat wicking panels on the back.

Winter cycling gloves

In winter when temperatures are low, it is important to keep your hands warm while cycling. Especially if you cycle to work or if you are a cyclist who trains consistently and don't want to give up doing so on cold days, you should definitely wear long-fingered, thermal winter gloves. There are in fact models for different weather conditions, windproof gloves, water-repellent gloves in neoprene or gore-tex, all with the aim of protecting your hands by keeping them warm, dry and avoiding numbness. At Cicli Mattio you can find top quality winter gloves that won't stop you even in cold and bad weather.
