Why?! These items are suitable for the sun, but also to protect you from wind and cold, and are just as useful for mountain bikers or racing cyclists as they are for those who use two wheels to get around town.

Bicycle hats

The bike cap is a very useful accessory in both summer and winter to wear under the helmet.

In the summer version, it usually has a visor to protect the eyes from the sun and sweat that might bother them, and is light and breathable, also perfect for protecting the scalp from UV rays that might cause sunburn through the helmet vents.

In the winter version, the bike hat is instead designed to keep the head warm, thermally insulated and often water-repellent.

Furthermore, when choosing a bike hat, it is good to consider:

  • material: the bike hat can be made of natural fibres (e.g. wool or cotton) or synthetic fibres (polyester, fleece microfibre or nylon)

  • technical characteristics (e.g. presence or absence of a visor)

  • properties (e.g. ability to be thermal, water-repellent, with reflective elements for road safety, etc.)

Vintage bike hats

Immediately when talking about bike caps, the vintage versions come to mind, with graphics featuring the sponsors and names of the historic teams of the 60s, 70s and 80s, when the lack of a helmet made the cap a must and a complement to the look for every cyclist! Today, vintage caps are a fashion item, often chosen to add a touch of style and personality, and are often made by major brands as gadgets.

Bicycle balaclava

The balaclava for cycling is an essential item during the coldest rides. It is, in fact, a sort of hood to be slipped over the head that protects the head, neck and part of the face, leaving only the eyes uncovered.
While cycling, the cyclist's face is in fact very exposed to cold and atmospheric agents, so by wearing a balaclava it can be protected and stay as warm and dry as possible.

Bicycle neck warmers

The bicycle neck warmer is a tubular fabric garment designed to be worn around the neck during the winter months or simply when temperatures are cooler during mid-season and you need to protect your throat. It is a very versatile, practical and easy to wear and use accessory.
